Desert Cities nomimado para 5 Tony Awards

Desert Cities, from January 16 - February 10, 2013.

Other Desert Cities is the funny and searing new play by Jon Robin Baitz, the creator of TV’s Brothers & Sisters, that was one of the hottest tickets on Broadway last season.  A finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Other Desert Cities was nominated for five Tony Awards® including Best Play.

In Other Desert Cities, Brooke Wyeth, a once promising novelist, returns home after a six year absence to celebrate Christmas in Palm Springs with her parents, former members of the Reagan inner circle, her brother and her aunt. When Brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir focusing on an explosive chapter in the family’s history, the holiday reunion is thrown into turmoil and the Wyeths are both bound together and torn apart as they struggle to come to terms with their past.

Touted as "The Best New Play on Broadway!" by The New York Times, this scintillating drama about a family pushed to the brink balances comedy and intense drama with rich dialogue and finely crafted characters.

"With Other Desert Cities, Actors' Playhouse again has the privilege to produce one of the best new plays from Broadway for our South Florida audiences," said Artistic Director David Arisco. "Other Desert Cities is an incredible new work - funny, powerful and shocking - that has yet to tour our region. A must-see production for any discerning theater goer."

The cast of Other Desert Cities includes Erin Joy Schmidt (Brooke Wyeth), Barbara Bradshaw (Polly Wyeth), American film, stage, and television actor J. Kenneth Campbell (Lyman Wyeth), Lourelene Snedeker (Silda Grauman) and Antonio Amadeo (Trip Wyeth). Directed by David Arisco, the creative team for Other Desert Cities includes Scenic Designer Tim Bennett, Costume Designer Ellis Tillman, Lighting Designer Patrick Tennent and Sound Designer Alexander Herrin.
